Toyota Venza: A Great CUV for the Bartlesville Mom
February 17, 2009 by Brad - Your Car Guy
Well, Bartlesville moms, it looks like gas is on the rise again and, as moms know, the SUVs that have been so popular over the last few years are not overly friendly at the gas pump. With the drop in popularity of the styling of the mini van and the rise in fuel prices taking a bite out of the appeal of the SUV, another class of car is on the rise as the family hauler of choice in Bartlesville, Tulsa and cities and towns everywhere. Mom’s new best friend is the CUV.
These roomy people movers offer the fuel economy of sedans with the added space of SUVs and are quickly becoming favorites all across America. And, in the class of CUVs, there is one new comer making quite a splash of its own. Meet the Toyota Venza.
Toyota Venza: Not Just Another CUV
There is no mistaking the Toyota Venza when you see it coming down the road. One look at the Venza and you can see it is a crossover that really stands out from the crowd. Toyota goes as far as to call it a new direction in passenger car design. I don’t know about that. There is no shortage of CUVs on the market and the Venza is a CUV. I do , however, think that as CUVs go there aren’t many that bring together the Toyota Venza’s combination of daring modern style, solid performance, spacious cargo room, and Toyota quality and fuel economy. So, even if the Venza is another CUV, it certainly isn’t ‘just another CUV’.
Moms Love Venza’s Style
Remember the days when you wanted a car because it was cool or elegant or sporty and not just because it had a seat belt for everyone and could hold all the softball equipment? Well maybe those days have just returned.
The Toyota Venza brings style and class back to the suburban family vehicle. Built on the Camry platform the Toyota Venza looks a little like a sporty sedan from the front. The Toyota emblem is centered above a wide grille which blends into flowing headlamps that then sweep back into the slightly rounded fenders. the overall effect is very fluid and melds nicely into the aerodynamic profile.
From the side, the Venza looks like it is raring to go. Raked A pillars give the car a wedged shape when combined with the slight, powerful bulge over the rear wheels. The wide rear corner panels help to add to the the small SUV appearance this car takes on from the rear view. Throw it all together and you have a great unique look that manages to incorporate sportiness, utility and a good bit more elegance than you would expect from this class of car.
Toyota Inerior Quality; CUV Interior Room
Inside the Venza continues with its great combination of style, elegance and utility. The leather seats are spill friendly, offering easy clean-up, and soft and comfortable for a luxurious driving environment. remote keyless entry, power windows and doors, and folding rear seats are all standard equipment. Special touches like a panoramic moon roof and Toyota’s next gen nav system that syncs with your cell phone and MP3 device through Bluetooth technology.
There’s also 70 Cu. Ft of storage with the rear seat folded and even 30 cu. ft of cargo room with the rear seats in use. The Toyota Venza makes good use of its space too providing plenty of places for moms to put all the things moms find themselves needing places to put. And all of your most precious cargo is made safe by features like traction control and stability control as well as seat belts, air bag systems, and all the safety features you would expect from a modern Toyota.
Venza’s Power and Economy
The Venza is available with a choice of two engines. You can choose from either the 2.7 liter, 182 hp four cylinder or a 3.5 liter 268 hp V6. Both engine options provide mom and family with Toyota’s legendary dependability and while the four cylinder does have better fuel economy at 21 city/29 highway the V6 doesn’t lag far behind with its very respectable 18 city/25 highway numbers.
A CUV for Everyone Everywhere
