2012 Ford Edge – Four Model Line Up – Car Buying Tips
February 9, 2012 by Stealthman- You Car Guy · Leave a Comment
The 2012 Ford Edge comes in 4 models:
2012 Ford Edge SE, SEL, Limited and Sport.
The2012 Ford Edge Sport comes with a 305 hp 3.7L V6 engine mated to a 6-speed SelectShift auto transmission with paddle shifters on the steering wheel.
The other 3 models make do with a 285 hp 3.5L V6 (same auto without the paddles), or an optional 240 hp engine for economy, the 2.0L EcoBoost turbocharged in-line four with standard 6-speed.
Good Power -Superior Suspension is Standard on the 2012 Ford Edge
All of these engines provide more than adequate power for this 2 ton crossover SUV. The Sport comes with sport-tuned suspension, backing up its name with some sporty handling to match the extra horsepower.
The 2012 Ford Edge-Front Wheel Drive and Classy Polished Aluminum Spinners
The SE comes with 17″ painted aluminum wheels, the SEL with the same wheels in 18″ with optional chrome, while the Limited model gets the 18″ chrome clad aluminum wheels as standard, with an optional size upgrade to 20″.
On the Sport are 22″ polished aluminum wheels, which look classy and also give a great ride. Front wheel drive is standard on all models, with all wheel drive being optional on all Edge models except the SE. This in one reason you see a lot of SE’s in rental fleets.
The Interior Appointments of the 2012 Ford Edge
Inside the cabin of the Edge, the SE model differs mainly in the absence of features which are standard on all of the other 3 models. These include dual zone air conditioning, leather-wrapped steering wheel with cruise, audio and 5-way controls, illuminated visor mirrors, 10-way power driver’s seat, SYNC, and Sirius satellite radio.
Those last 2 are available as options on the SE however. Limited and Sport models get a Sony audio system with HD radio to upgrade the audio experience from the standard radio available on the SE and SEL.
- Seating also distinguishes the Edge models, with SE getting cloth-trimmed seats, while the SEL seats have unique cloth trim which means the buyer can choose from a range of patterns.
- The Limited has leather-trimmed seats, while the Edge Sport has unique charcoal black seats to match the charcoal black interior.
- The Sport also has a standard 6-way power front passenger seat which folds down to allow the full length of the cabin to be used for large loads, when the rear seats are also folded down.
- This option is also available on the SEL model but not on the SE or Limited, which gets a standard 10-way power front passenger seat instead.
The Exterior on the 2012 Ford Edge
On the outside of the 2012 Ford Edge, the Sport model is distinguished by a black grille not shared by the other models, and this really does set off the looks of the Sport nicely compared to the chrome grille on the others.
The Edge SE has black exterior mirrors and door handles which get upgraded to body-color items on the higher models.
The 2012 Ford Edge Sport a Delight in Color Combos
The Edge Sport also gets body-color in the front and rear lower fascia and along the lower sides of the vehicle. That extra color really does add to the looks of the Sport especially as it contrasts nicely with that black grille at the front. Another nice touch on the Edge Sport are the chrome exhaust tips.
So the 2012 Ford Edge is a classy mid-size crossover SUV, which has performance and luxury upgrades for every price point. The SE starts at $27,750, the SEL at $31,060, the Limited can be had for $34,915, and the Sport for $37,090. And of course optional upgrades can complete the package on any of these models. Something for everybody, at a price that anybody can afford

The 2012 Ford Fiesta is Persnickety from Bumper to Bumper
The 2012 Ford Fiesta is a well known car that has been around for many years. The reason that it has been around so long is because it is a truly outstanding car. What is even more incredible is that Ford manages to improve it every single time they release a new model, and this time is no exception!
More Leg, Head and Shoulder Room in the 2012 Ford Fiesta
The new Ford Fiesta is slightly bigger than previous models and this has allowed the designers to give an incredible amount of extra comfort. When inside there is loads of space and you feel like you are sitting in a top of the range luxury car.
Awesome Handling !
What has always made the 2012 Ford Fiesta the most awesome car to own is the way it has unique driver response & handling and driving enjoyment. This car handles like a super car with crisp sharp turning and with the chassis capable of way more power you can have enormous fun.
Head to some winding country roads and you are going to have the best driving experience of your life.
Not only does the drive give you everything you wanted but the new style central dash looks beautiful. It continues to give you the feeling of being in a car that should be ten times the price.
2012 Ford Fiesta Electronic Power Assist Steering
Adding to the intense experience is the EPAS and AdvanceTrac ESC. The EPAS stands for Electronic Power Assisted Steering and which is speed sensitive and designed to provide you with exactly the right amount of feedback when driving at highway speed.
The AdvanceTrac ESC will automatically apply braking and adjust the torque of the car if it detects that you are speeding. Both of these advanced technological components mean that you have unparalleled control and the car grips to the road like glue.
Low Cost of Ownership is another bonus when you own the 2012 Ford Fiesta
The running costs of the 2012 Ford Fiesta are also exceptional and you are going to be hard pressed to find a car with this kind of performance that has such low running costs. With the Super Fuel Economy package you can get up to 40mpg on the highway!
Of course, apart from the performance, what really keeps us Fiesta fanatics is the styling. This car has to be one of the sexiest cars in the market. Their three door version is my personal favorite and the bold range of colors that is available makes sure that you will stand out from the crowd.
2012 Ford Fiesta Top Safety Pick for It’s Size
The all new 2012 Ford Fiesta with its unique driver response & handling and driver enjoyment was inspired but the track but built for the road. 2012 Ford Mustang – It’s “Nacho” Your Daddy’s Mustang Anymore – Car Buying Tips

2012 Ford Mustang The Fifth Generation
The Ford Mustang has a long and illustrious heritage going back to 1964 when the very first Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan.
The 2012 Ford Mustang belongs to the fifth generation of Mustangs which began production in 2005. The base model comes with a 305 hp 3.7L Ti-VCT V6 driving through a standard 6-speed manual transmission, or optional 6-speed auto, which gets 31 mpg on the highway.
The Ford Mustang is an iconic American sports car but is also an affordable 5-seater everyday car: base model lists at $22,310.
Let’s Start at the Top the Line Shelby GT 500
For serious Mustang enthusiasts, the top range model, available in blue with white racing stripes is the Shelby GT500 Convertible powered by a 550 hp supercharged 5.4L V8.
There are also intermediate models such as the GT and GT Convertible with a 412 hp 5.0L Ti-VCT V8, and the Boss 302 Mustang with a 444hp 5.0L V8. The Boss 302 model has been revived for the 2012 model year to evoke memories of the original Boss 302.
High Performance in a Small Block in the 2012 ford Mustang
This was the high-performance small block version of the 1969-1970 Mustang, named after the new “Boss” (President) of Ford at the time, Semon “Bunkie” Knudsen, who had just come over from GM was the driving force behind the Mustang Boss 302.
For muscle car aficionados who just have to know, the Boss 302′s 0-60 mph time is 4.2 seconds.
The Shelby GT500 beats it by a mere 0.2 seconds, hitting 60 in 4 seconds flat.
The Retro Pony Car
The styling of this latest incarnation of the “pony car” is more closely based on the original ’60′s design than more recent Mustangs Technology changes all the time what we can’t do not want to escape is great design. The mechanical underpinnings of the car as well as the technology used in the cabin, are definitely from the 21st century.
It’s a modern retro classic in every sense of the word, and has been enthusiastically embraced by Mustang fans keen to experience a true American muscle car with performance and refinement levels which can be expected from a new car.
Compared to the Inaugural Mustang the 2012 Ford Mustang is a Technological Marvel
One of the features made possible by 21st century technology, which really makes sense in a driver’s car like the Mustang, is the Selectable Electronic Power Assist Steering. With the flick of a switch, the driver can choose between 3 settings: Standard, Sport and Comfort.
Sport offers more feel by decreasing the level of steering assistance, Comfort increases assistance for a more relaxing drive, while Standard is a compromise default setting.
There are 11 Models in the Lineup
1.) There are four V-6′s stanard, Premium and the Convertible and Premium Convertible 2.) There are four GT standard, GT Premium, GT Convertible and GT Premium Convertible 3.) The Boss 4.) Shelby GT 500, Shelby GT 500 Convertible
There’s a lot to be said about the 2012 Ford Mustang, and a lot to like. With 11 models in the lineup, offering every combination of price, fuel economy, luxury and performance that could be desired in a modern American sports car.
Compared to the Inaugural Mustang the 2012 Ford Mustang is a Technological Marvel
And the fact that this is a Ford doesn’t detract from the achievement that is the 2012 Ford Mustang. It has all the electronic mod cons available in other Fords, such as MyKey, SYNC, Sirius Satellite Radio, and much more, making it a car of the 21 century. Backed by the one global American based manufacturer which hasn’t needed a bailout this century,
The Ford Mustang is a world-class sports car Americans can be proud of. It doesn’t have anywhere near the fat sticker price of its European rivals, and it has an unrivaled pedigree which is the benchmark for its domestic competition like Camaro and Charger. It’s a flagship model for Ford, and is one very good reason why Ford Motor Company is facing its 2nd century with a lot of confidence and optimism. It’s that good.

2012 Ford Flex is a Smooth Operator – Car Buying Tips

2012 Ford Flex Review
As soon as you take your seat in the new 2012 Ford Flex and grab the steering wheel you say to yourself “this is different!… This is cool!” You are pleasantly surprised at how driver’s seat hugs you body. The instrument panel is well laid out and easy to read. Welcome to the 2012 Ford Flex. A 7-seat full-size crossover SUV. First introduced in 2008 as a 2009 model, it runs There is a 6-speed automatic transmission with the standard V6, and a SelectShift 6-speed auto with paddle shift controls on the steering wheel that comes with the more powerful turbo V6, 262 hp 3.5L V6 as standard, with a 355hp turbocharged 3.5L EcoBoost as an option on the Limited and Titanium models.
The Interior Space is Deceiving From the Outside.
This car has the space of a minivan, the drive-ability of a station wagon. The front-end design is reminiscent of a recent product from the UK, the Range Rover. [or did the Range Rover borrow the front end flare from the Flex?] This author thinks the later. Among other things the 2012 Ford Flex certainly is a very classy luxury vehicle.
The Flex is loaded with high-tech features found in other vehicles of the current Ford range. While the Flex may look a little like a Range Rover, it’s not really designed as a purpose-built off-road vehicle. No, this is strictly an urban cruiser. You can get the Flex in all-wheel-drive with the optional EcoBoost V6. For the thrill seeker these safety features are a great addition when the road surface is less than perfect. Skylights Open the 2012 Ford Flex to Maximun Light The Flex is quite a long vehicle, which allows for no less than 4 skylights if the Vista Roof option is specified. The Vista Roof consists of a power moonroof over the driver and front passenger, 2 smaller skylights above the 2nd row of seats, and a larger skylight at the rear. Inside, it’s very roomy with loads of legroom thanks to the boxy shape and long passenger compartment. This also makes it a great load carrier if one or more rows of seats are folded down. On the road, the Flex handles well, with independent front and rear suspension. The AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control system’s gyroscopic sensors measure vehicle roll and turning rates and feed this data to the braking system and transmission to keep the Flex under control in emergency situations where a sudden swerve is required.
A Vehicle that Goes From Good to Great
It’s amazing what some smart electronics can do to make a good vehicle great. And the Flex is certainly well equipped with some useful electronic devices. MyKey, Ford’s personalized electronic key system is standard on all Flex models, while SYNC, the interface which connects the driver’s mobile phone or iPod to the car’s entertainment system is standard on SEL, Limited and Titanium and optional on SE.
- For those who want to plug in household electronic devices such as laptop or phone chargers, there is a handy 110 volt AC outlet available as standard on Limited and Titanium, optional on SEL.
- A nifty optional feature is the PowerFold rear seat. The way this works the 3rd row seat folds flat with the touch of a button. In addition you can even reverse the seat when the tailgate is open. Now that is a nifty design feature that can be used for recreational purposes when the Flex is parked.
- Ford has really put a lot of thought into the wide market niche the 2012 Ford Flex can appeal to.

Ford Mulally Performance: The 2010 Ford Taurus SHO
May 17, 2010 by Brad - Your Car Guy · 2 Comments
$20,000 Emblem
Is it a Audi 6, Infinti M45X, Lexus LS 460 or the Mercedes E Class? Most people’s first impression of the new 2010 Ford Taurus SHO is “this is an European performance vehicle”. If I covered the Ford emblem you could guess any one of these high dollar competitors. Take any one of the above mentioned emblems and put it on the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO and now you can add twenty grand to the MSRP. This is how far the Taurus SHO has advanced.
There are a lot of reasons I say this:
1.) Styling : Let’s face it, no matter what the product is, if you don’t like the styling you ain’t buying it. Graceful lines with curve appeal, low, sultry and sexy puts the SHO in class all by itself. This alone is a great reason to own the new 2010 Taurus SHO, curb appeal deluxe.
2.) Creature Comforts: Number one on my list for the ultimate ride are the seats that give you a relaxing massage. These seats make you look forward to that long road trip. Not only do you arrive in style, you will arrive relaxed. Smart and strategically located ambient lighting in the front and rear foot-wells, door handles and cup holders prevents fumbling or distraction at night and any time you are driving. The overall panel and scope of gauges, knobs, and dials are all available in five easy on the eyes color combination’s of Ice Blue, Orange, Green, Soft Blue, Red and Purple.
3.) Raw Power: Simply put the raw power screams WOW! The Eco-Boost provides an exhilarating thrust as soon as you push the accelerator to the floor. The power comes as a natural complement to the electric power assist steering, the heavy duty springs, the tuned shocks, plus the stiffer stabilizer bars and new rear suspension provide a more connected feel between the driver and the road.
4.) Engineering: Quite. This dynamo is real quite. The SHO is a real feat in fast forward and future engineering. Even if you never experience the thrill of purchasing a new a new Ford Taurus SHO at least make it a mission to drive one.
True BLIS: The Blind Spot Information System with the appropriate acronym “BLIS” , takes the fear out of changing lanes, plus adds a layer of safety in transportation that will save lives.
4A) Superman Paint Have you ever been a bit apprehensive about taking your performance machine on one of the gravel back roads?; Or had your heart sink as you get stuck behind a truck hauling some type of debris flying out of the cargo bed? If so another kudo to the engineering team was the treatment of the paint. They have produced a paint worthy of the “Superman Kryptonite” title. Throw away your touch up paint, the Taurus paint finish is chip resistant. How much value will this add to your SHO at trade in time? Check out this two minute video I’ll call “War Paint” http://www.fordvehicles.com/2010taurus/?id=/demos/video01
5.)Technology: BLIS, as mentioned above is Fords unique blind spot detection guidance system. Today we have smart cars and part of that system is the Navigation System SIRIUS Travel Link™ . Ford’s Navigation intelligence provides useful travel information such as approaching weather, recommended travel stops for fuel, food and beverages. The new crystal clear HD Radio™ reception is loud and clear even in the middle of the Mojave desert.
Like The Expensive German Model
Ford’s Adaptive Cruise Control senses the time and distance needed to decelerate and slow down your vehicle to a safe driving speed to avoid any potential driving hazards The Collision Warning with Brake Support puts into motion exatly what the name implies, an alarm to help you stay clear of a potential collision.
Where and the heck are my Keys? Ford’s Intelligent Access and Push Button Start prevent that mad dash looking for your keys when you are already running five minutes late. How about that for peace of mind and or surprising your boss because now you are always on time! For all the details our in-house expert is Bill Hight .

Ford has become the leader with vehicles that embody compelling styling, design excellence, smart technology, safety, fuel economy, low emissions, quality, and more.
As Motor Trend Magazine said in their article announcing the Fusion’s ascension to 2010 Car of the Year, the new Fusion is “better, smarter, nicer, prettier, comfier, leaner, meaner and greener in every way.” Also in contention were the all-new Taurus and the perennial Mustang.

Ford Work Trucks and Ford Work Solutions
April 14, 2009 by Brad - Your Car Guy · Comments Off
F-150 and Ford Work Solutions
Ford Motor Company has been producing tough, dependable, hardworking vehicles for years. Whether its with their F-series trucks or their E-series vans, Ford’s fleet of work vehicles has consistently been amongst the leaders in both innovation and reliability and are fixtures on job sites here in Bartlesville and all across America. From the Crown Victoria to the F-150 to the upcoming Transit Connect, if your job involves a vehicle it is likely a Ford. And now, thanks to Ford’s new Work Solutions technologies, that tough dependable Ford is about to evolve into a whole new species of 21st century ready work vehicle.
Last month Ford introduced their new Ford Work Solutions technologies, now available in 2009 F-150, F-series Super Duty and E-series vans. According to ford, Ford Work Solutions is a collection of affordable technologies, including four industry first features, which offer Ford truck customers a brand new level of connectivity, flexibility and security in their work vehicle. These new technologies aim to allow Ford owners to better run key aspects of their business, helping to make business owners more productive and successful.
Ford Work Solutions Four Innovative New Features
First on the list of new technologies is Ford’s new in-dash computer, developed with Magneti Marelli and powered by Microsoft Auto, which provides high-speed Internet access via the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network, Bluetooth-enabled Hands Free Calling and navigation by Garmin. It is the first broadband-capable in-dash computer in production. The system allows customers to print invoices, check inventories and access documents stored on their home or office computer networks – right on the job site. users can even update files and print them with an available blue-tooth enabled, battery powered, inkjet printer. The computer is integrated into the vehicle’s center stack, filling the same space normally occupied by the standard radio. It is equipped with a 6.5-inch, high-resolution touch screen, four gigabytes of memory, a secure digital slot for added memory, a USB port and a wireless keyboard and mouse. A stylus, stored next to the CD slot, is included for use on the touch screen.
Next there is tool Link, a Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) asset tracking system developed in partnership with DeWALT™, the industry leader in professional power tools, and ThingMagic, the industry expert on embedded RFID technology. This technology enables customers to maintain a detailed real-time inventory of the tools or equipment stored in the pickup. When the vehicle is running, a pair of RFID antennas, mounted in corrosion- and impact-resistant housings on the inside of the pickup box, scan the box for the items bearing RFID tags on a pre-programmed inventory list. The data is transmitted to a reader mounted inside the cab and displayed on the in-dash computer screen, alerting the driver if any inventoried tools are not loaded on the truck. this helps top both eliminate tools being left behind on the job site and leaving for a job without the tools that will be needed for a job being loaded onto the truck.
Crew Chief is another of the new technologies. It is a fleet telematics and diagnostics system which allows small fleet owners to efficiently manage their vehicles, quickly dispatch workers to job sites, monitor driver performance and keep detailed vehicle maintenance records. The system not only supplies real time vehicle location information, allowing dispatchers to efficiently and optimally deploy fleets, but can also monitor information like tire pressure and check engine codes as well as identify user set alerts like excessive idling time. The system can also provide fuel calculations and fuel tax reporting to help business owners manage costs.
And lastly there is the new Cable Lock security system developed in partnership with Master Lock®, the industry-leading lock manufacturer. This new system is designed to discourage theft of expensive tools too large to fit in the cab. Comprised of an eight foot long retractable steel cable which is contained in an impact resistant spring loaded housing in the rear of the pick-up box, the cable lock security system easily winds around toolbox handles or through compressor or generator frames and is then locked to the truck with a cuff style clasp. The system is easily installed on almost any Ford Pick up truck.

Proud to be Bartlesville’s Ford Dealer
The Doenges name has been associated with Ford in Bartlesville for many years now and it is an association I could not be prouder of. Though there is surely a feeling of pride that comes from owning your own business no matter what the product I, as a Ford dealer, consider myself extremely lucky to be representing a product with such a rich and illustrious history. When you sell Fords you can always rest assured that you are supplying the public with a high quality product.

Ford Eco-Boost Technology
March 9, 2009 by Brad - Your Car Guy · 4 Comments
What is Eco-Boost?
A couple of days ago I received an e-mail from a reader who had read a recent post I wrote on the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO. The reader noticed the use of the term Eco-boost when referring to the SHO’s V6 powerplant and was wondering what the term denoted. So, for those of you who may be wondering this as well, I though with today’s post I’d focus a little more on Ford’s Eco-boost.
If you are a Ford consumer, Eco-Boost is a term you will probably be hearing a lot in coming years. Aside from the Taurus SHO Ford vehicles like the F-150, Mustang, Ford Fusion, and Lincoln MKS will offer an Eco-Boost option in coming models. But what does Eco-Boost mean?
