How The 2009 Ford Flex Can Help Tiger’s Knee Improve

March 8, 2009 by

The Masters Tournament, Tiger, Bartlesville and the 2009 Ford Flex

Tiger’s quest for a Grand Slam starts right here in Bartlesville, Oklahoma with a few suggestions and recommendations on why the 2009 Ford Flex should be his vehicle of choice.

Let me explain:

Tiger Woods and his knee problems became a topic of conversation as I drove past the Hillcrest Golf Club in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. A friend of mine, Preston Hall was traveling with me said “Tiger has got a big problem and I have the solution”. I said “OK I’m all ears” He said, the “2009 Ford Flex.”

To refresh your memory, Tiger Woods knee has been under alot of scrutiny lately. Last year Tiger underwent surgery for a severe and painful tear in his left knee, his ACL to be more specific. Due to the physics of one of the most powerful swings in the history of the game, his knee was under extreme pressure as the shock absorber and impact point for all the torque of that swing. This injury happened over a along period of time, one golf swing at a time.

Tiger Woods Knee

My friend Preston, suffered the same injury as Tiger but in a different sport. He vividly recalls the pain and rehabilitation. Preston says “it is no picnic” and can empathize with Tiger. Preston has also spent a lot of time driving the 2009 Ford Flex. He has a story to share on how the Flex is REAL easy on the knees.

In order to repair a damaged knee the victim must go out of their way to protect the knee against any type of stress. How one travels around town and from tournament to tournament has a direct impact on your knees.

The Ford Flex vs. The Gulfstream G550

When Tiger flies from one tournament to another his plane of choice is the G550. The Gulfstream G550 is a business jet produced by General Dynamics’ Gulfstream Aerospace unit, located in Savannah, Georgia. The price tag $59 million dollars. For that kind of money Tiger can travel in comfort and not put any stress on that knee.

Now let’s compare the fully loaded $59 million 2009 G550 ride with the 2009 Ford Flex fully loaded that comes in at a mere $33 thousand. And currently has a $4,000 cash rebate back to the customer. So the Tiger Woods Ford Flex is priced for sale at $29 thousand. That is $58,971,000 less than the G550. Listen!!.. here is the icing on the cake, the Flex will deliver the same fatigue and stress free ride and comfort for that banged up knee as the G550. For Real!

These are a few of the creature comfort design features Tiger would be thrilled with on his his 2009 Ford Flex. Leg room, hip room and head room.

Ford Flex Leg, Hip and Head Room

  • Leg Room: The 2009 Ford Flex has an incredible 44.3 of leg room in the back seat. The front seat is 40.8,    When you first look into the vast interior of the Flex your eyes will fool you. This crossover has plenty of room to stretch the long legs out and give your knees a “break”.
  • Hip Room: The Flex has an amazing 55.5 inches of hip room.  For comparison, have you ever been on a CRJ airplane? It is an aluminum can with two itsy bitsy seats on either side of the aisle and no hip room. A real torture chamber for travel. The 55.5 inches is a full 18 inches wider than those airplane seats. The extra wide seats in the Flex and the extra room are very, very comfortable and make travel a pleasure.
  • Head Room is 41.8  inches. What makes this important is that if you don’t have enough head room the Leg and Hip room are non-consequential.

To put these creature comforts into a comparison did you know the 2009 Ford Flex has more Head Room, Hip Room and Leg Room than the 2008 Rolls-Royce Phantom priced at $403,000.00? This is a fact.

A Trip to Bartlesville

Besides the comfort I have not even mentioned the quite ride, the 4500 lb towing capacity and enough room for 17 bags of groceries or 7 sets of golf clubs and bags. More on this in my next article.

For now I invite Tiger Woods to Bartlesville, Oklahoma and stop by our Dealership Doenges Ford Lincoln Mercury Toyota and let me prove to you why the Ford Flex will help mend those knees.

Tiger, if you can’t fit us into your scheudle good luck at the Masters!
