Ford — Experience Getting Green

Global Warming, Fuel Prices and Ford
For the past several years there has been a lot of controversy over global warming. Funny enough, as with most topics, when people are asked if they believe in man made global warming opinions seem to run pretty much along party lines.
It appears that Democrats are much more likely to believe global warming is a dangerous man caused phenomenon and Republicans seem much more likely to believe it is either a scientific conspiracy or a natural, perhaps cyclical, occurrence. To me this party line split would be indicative of the fact that most on either side don’t really understand the science well enough to have a truly informed opinion and therefor believe what their talking heads tell them to believe. But, be that as it may, there is one thing we can all agree on. For Democrats and Republicans alike, whether you were here in Bartlesville, Oklahoma or in Portland, Oregon, whether you live in a million dollar mansion or a studio apartment, fuel prices last summer were freaking cr-r-r-rzaaazy.
Because of the fact that fuel prices are unstable, fuel is, unarguably, a limited resource and, no matter your stance on man made global warming, unpolluted air, land and bodies of water are much nicer than their polluted counterparts, I for one think that a move towards greener vehicles is important. And, as a Ford dealer, I’m glad to say that Ford is concerned about going green as well.
Ford Going Green Videos
For today’s post I wanted to share a couple of videos from Ford that help to show how they are moving towards a greener tomorrow. These two short videos are form Ford and give a little glimpse at a couple of the areas where Ford is trying to make a difference.
The first video is a look at the Ford Educate to Escape winners, Kelly Creek Elementary and their green make over.
Ford Takes Green to School
And this video is a look at the work Ford is doing with Southern California Edison to develop new plug in hybrid vehicles.
Ford Plugs-In to the Future
I hope you find both the videos interesting and informative. After watching drop a comment in the comment section with some suggestions of what else Ford, other companies, or community members and readers here can do to make the world a greener place. Or if you are interested in looking into a greener transportation option feel free to look at Ford and Toyota offerings at my Bartlesville store or ask for a quote on a environmentally friendly auto.
