January 21, 2009 by Brad - Your Car Guy
Last month we published the top ten used car list for December of 2008 and today we will start with our Top Ten used car list for January of 2009. Though some of the cars are the same, as is to be expected when some cars have held on to top resale positions for years now, there are some newcomers as well. I hope you enjoy the list and will find it useful if you are in the market for a new or used car or truck.
So lets get started. Premiering this month on our top ten list at
10. The Toyota Sienna — A Used Mini-Van Marvel
It wasn’t until the arrival of the Toyota Sienna into the mini-van class that Toyota was able to make an impact on this highly popular segment of the auto motive market. Once it arrived, however, the Sienna brought a new level of class to compete with the Domestic models that had been dominate for so many years.
Sienna Crisp Clean Lines
Carrying available options like leather, the choice of adjustable bench seats or sliding captain’s chairs, an eight-passenger configuration, a 10-speaker sound system, in-dash CD changer, satellite navigation, DVD entertainment system (with handy power and A/V jacks), a moonroof, heated seats, park assist with a rear camera display on the navigation screen, and sun shades for both the middle and rear windows, the Sienna is a mini-van that can either be a basic people mover or an upscale luxury vehicle. And no matter the options chosen Sienna consumers always have the peace of mind of driving a vehicle carryng the Toyota badge. As a Toyota one can be certain that the Sienna is made with the dependable craftsmanship the automaker is famous for.
The Sienna has Extra Wide Doors
The Sienna is driven by the innovative 3.3-liter DOHC V-6 with VVT-I variable valve timing. When paired with the five-speed automatic transmission, this 230-horsepower 242 lb-ft of torque motor provides the consumer with respectable acceleration and power for a vehicle in the mini-van class. With EPA fuel economy for front-drive models coming in at 19/27 mpg, only slightly less than a Camry sedan with the same engine package and competitive with mini-vans that deliver less power, the Sienna offers a great balance between the economy and drivability consumer’s want in a car.
Toyota Sienna Floats Like a Butterfly
Driver’s will most likely be surprised by the ride quality of the Sienna as well. The mini-van offers drivers a suspension that provides excellent levels of ride comfort as well as great stability. The steering is smooth and responsive without the amoount of pitch and roll found in many vehicles in the class. All in all, driver’s should find that the level of comfort, responsiveness and performance combine to provide a superb driving experience for a vehicle of its size.
Cargo Space Deluxe Aboard the Toyota Sienna
Of course, being a Toyota, you can also rest assured that the Sienna will provide a safe ride for its occupants, a quality that is more important than ever in a vehicle class that is designed for the purpose of family transportation. Standard safety features included on Siennas are four wheel ABS, tire pressure monitor, child seat anchors, dynamic head restraints and many more. These features combine with seat belts and air bag systems to help the Sienna achieve four star frontal crash test ratings for the driver and five star ratings for the passenger as well as five star ratings for front and rear seat occupants in side crash tests.
Toyota’s Legacy
For anyone who is in the market for a great, safe, comfortable, and fun to drive people mover the Sienna is sure to be a top choice. And as one of my top choice in the used car market over the past month, the Sienna finds itself at the number ten spot in the Brad Your Car Guy top ten used car list for January of 2009.
