2009 Ford Flex – Just Plain Fun
August 12, 2008 by Brad - Your Car Guy
Ford’s latest entry in the crossover market is the 2009 Ford Flex. With unique styling and seating for seven, the Ford Flex, the largest of the Ford crossover vehicles, can be configured to perform many different functions, ranging from completely practical to just plain fun!
The 3.5 L, DOHC Duratec V6 engine provides plenty of power and pickup. With a towing capacity of 4500 pounds, you can pull a wide variety of toys for fun!
Ford Flex Style
The bold styling of the Ford Flex integrates a vista roof, which gives every passenger a sunroof, with a chrome grille, 18” or 19” wheels, and a two-toned roof. Three trim packages, the 2009 Ford Flex SE, 2009 Ford Flex SEL, and the 2009 Ford Flex Limited, means you can get the perfect package to suit your needs. Available Ford Flex AWD (all wheel drive) provides the advanced technology of Intelligent AWD, not only reacting to wheel slippage, but predicting it, allowing the driver even greater control in the event of a skid.
Ford Safety in 2009
Safety, as always with Ford cars, is a priority. The Ford Flex crash test obtained a 5 star crash rating. The side air bags and side curtain air bags protect not only the driver but all of the passengers in the event of an accident. Reverse sensors help alert the driver to unseen obstacles, helping to avoid an accident or fender bender while backing up. The rear view camera leaves no blind spots behind the vehicle. A power liftgate makes it easy to load and unload your Ford Flex vehicle. Parents will love the standard LATCH (Lower Anchor and Tether for Children) system that allows easy installation of car and booster seats and ensures proper placement.
A Spacious Crossover
Plenty of interior room means the 2009 Ford Flex cargo capacity is huge, there’s definitely plenty of room for all of your family’s gear. Seven passengers can ride comfortably in the 2008 Ford Flex thanks to the roomy design and limo-style comfort. There’s no shortage of entertainment options, with a music jukebox, optional SIRIUS satellite radio, and a DVD entertainment system. Take the crowd on the road with the refrigerated console to keep your refreshments cool on a long drive.
Super Quiet Flex Crossover
Ambient lighting adds to the comfort and luxury. The Ford SYNC voice integrated in car communication system for Bluetooth and MP3 compatibility (factory installed, and currently exclusive to Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles) allows you to see who is calling without ever taking your eyes off of the road. The voice activated navigation system gets you to your destination safely and efficiently. The 2009 Ford Flex is specially equipped for a super quiet ride, too.
Competing with the GMC Acadia and the Saturn Outlook, the 2009 Ford Flex debuts high in its class thanks to the style, function, and price.
