Toyota Camry — The Crowned King of Used Cars
January 31, 2009 by Brad - Your Car Guy
And as the number one used car we have….The Toyota Camry. Well, no big surprise there. Its kind of like when Spielberg wins for best director. But the truth of the matter is, new or used, its tough to beat the Camry. As one of the best selling vehicles in history this car finds itself at the number one spot in a number of lists due to the plain and simple fact that it is, in almost all respects, consistently among the very pinnacle of its class.
The Camry came in at #1 on last month’s used car list and, as I did with the other two re-occurring cars on this month’s used car top ten list, I will use this post to offer links to lots of information about used Camry’s from the past few years. Whether you are looking for a new or used Camry, or Camry Hybrid, the best way to assure that you are buying a car you will enjoy for a long time to come is to first spend time researching the car and gathering all the information you can.
Being as that the Camry is so popular and has been popular for so long, information abounds. There are literally hundreds of different sources of information on the car, from professional reviews to consumer reviews to video reviews to spec charts and pricing details to resale and trade in information. Out of all these resources here are a few I think you might find handy in your research on used Toyota Camry’s.
Used Toyota Camry Review Information
At Automotive.com you can find a convenient list of used Toyota Camry reviews sorted by year model. Click the year you are interested in and you are greeted by one of the more in-depth reviews you will find on the web. A click on 2004 Camry reveals that they credit “Toyota’s reputation for quality, durability and reliability” as “a big part of the reason” for the Camry’s success. That sounds about right to me.
Autos.aol.com offers a lot of review information as well. Their review of the 2004 Toyota Camry calls the car “Seamless, flawless transportation.” They also offer a sidebar of easy to browse links to lead you to the specific Camry information you are looking for.
If you are more interested in what the actual consumers who own or have owned Toyota Camrys have to say check out some of Edmunds.com’s consumer reviews. On the list of consumer reviews for the 2001 Toyota Camry I link to past and present owners of this car can be seen saying things like “My Camry is like an old friend” and “I realize that it will be there for me when I need it. I’ve only replaced a tail light bulb on this over and above regular scheduled maintenance!”.
And finally here is a video review of the 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid from the people at myride.com.
As you can see there is a lot of great information out there and almost all of it says, in one way or another, that a used Toyota Camry is a great car. It is for this reason and many many others that I have once again made the Toyota Camry my number on used car pick on Brad Your car Guy’s top Ten Used Car list for January of 2009.
